  2. What does the main character, Amir remember about a winter in 1975?
I think it's the memory of Hassan being raped by Assef haunts him. That's why he remembers it so clearly.

Where does Amir and Ali's fathers live?
Amir, Baba, Hassan, and Ali lives in Kabul.

What happened to Amirs mother and who does he want to be close with?
Amir's mother died when he was born. She died giving birth to him.

What do you learn about Baba?
Baba is a very successful person. He did many thigns to care for the community and his family and friends.

Who is Assef a fan of ?
Assef is a fan of Hitler. He thinks that Hitler is the leader. Assef thinks that Hitler should be the president of Kabul and get rid of people like Hassan.

What are the kites coated with?
The kites are coated with glue and glass so that it is easier to cut.

    What happens to Assef?
I don't really get this question... Did something happen to him? Did I miss something? well that is if you are talking about Hassan, then it;s a different story. Hassan was raped by Assef, who wanted to get back at Hassan for pulling a slingshot at him.

What shows Amir that Assef is loyal to him?
For this question to, I htink you mean Hassan. well when Amir wanted to have a pomagranted fight and hit each other with them. Hassan didn't throw but just rubbed it on his forehead.

What does Amir realize he no longer can do?
I think I need help with this question. I'm not actually sure. I thibk the answer might be that he can't sleep and do anything properly due to the guilt he has of Hassan.

  3. Question #1 made me think about what was going on in the story. At this point in the book, Amir is remembering the winter of 1975. Amir remembers a phone call from his friend (Rahim Khan). He asked Amir to visit him in Pakistan. After this phone call, Amir walks through San Francisco where he sees two kites. Once he sees the kites, he remembers something Rahim said to him. “There is a way to be good again.”
Since Amir was having flashbacks of what went on, it made me think about what was going to happen next in the book. This scene is right in the beginning of the book, so to read this first, it makes you think about how the character of Amir got to this point. I think this introduction was a good way to draw the reader in and get th story started.
